Kwekerij Kees de Jongh

Kees de Jongh was raised on a farm. At a very young age, thanks to his older brother Retine, he came in contact with chrysanthemums. In 1992, Kees started his own company. It was then growing Buttercup (in the winter) and Lisianthus (in the summer), partly in a heated plastic greenhouse and partly outside. Also carnations were among the assortment.

The business went well and in 1997 five acres of land could be bought. It was not immediately possible to build a greenhouse and therefore Kees first hired a greenhouse of 6,000 m2 in which he grew summer flowers. But finally, in 2001, the building of a completely new greenhouse from 15,000 m2 could be realized. In 2004 a further 11,000 m2 of greenhouses was built, bringing the total industrial area at 26,000 m2.

In 2006 Kees de Jongh grows only high quality exclusive Santini's, including the brand new race Savy. The workforce now consists of seven permanent employees who provide a weekly average production of 240,000 chrysanthemums. Future plans exist to expand the industrial area by a further 12,000 m2. Another goal is to further expand the assortment with even more exclusive Santini races.

Thanks to the Quality Flower Group, we meet the acute needs of the customer. By combining our strengths we can perform better and explore clearer promotional activities. Grower and customer know each other better and this is a very positive development.
