Chrysanthemum Nursery Nico van Wijk BV was founded in 1967. My father started with strawberries and tomatoes. In 1974 we first began to cultivate year round chrysanthemums. The industrial area was ​​1 acre at that time. In 1987 the company expanded to 2 acres.

In 2001 we built a new greenhouse with artificial lighting of 4000 lux. This brought the total floor area to 3 hectares. In 2007 the artificial light was slightly more than doubled to 8500 lux. We are therefore able to deliver even better quality in the winter months.

The weekly production is around 150,000 to 200,000 flowers. The company philosophy is to deliver continuous production and quality. We also want to use internal energy, with minimum CO2 emissions and maximize energy through heat.

Thanks to the Quality Flower Group, we can develop the right promotional activities. Through our dedicated Relationship Manager John van Santen, we get a better understanding of the market. We now know exactly what the buyers wishes are in terms of product range and quality.
